Celebrating 10 Years of Girl Talk Ministries!
We are honored to celebrate 10 Years of Girl Talk Ministries with these women, men, girls and the moms, girls, women and men who were not able to make it but have been just as much a part of making all of this possible.
“ALL GLORY to God Who is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask, think or imagine according to His Power at work within us.” Ephesians 3:20
10 years ago on May 12, 2013, a summer Bible study of 20 girls and 20 moms met in a living room in Pike Road, Alabama. Over the last decade, we have seen hundreds of girls every summer gather for missions, Bible studies and paint fights across Alabama and beyond. In our first year, we expanded to Enterprise, Auburn and BirminghamIn July 2019, God was doing something bigger than one. He was calling Amy Cate to step out in faith again. Just as He was in August 2013 when He called her to take classes online to keep leading Bible study and in June 2014, He called her to go into full time ministry with Girl Talk. In September 2019, after months of praying, crying out, feeling the stirring of something coming… Lindsey said, “HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT ABOUT DOING MINISTRY TOGETHER?” And God opened the biggest, brightest, best door ever that has been full speed again ever since.
Over the last three years, Girl Talk has grown to 21 cities with girls and moms across the world studying with us through podcasts, YouTube and social media. We have seen families change, we have seen girls grow, we have seen an entire generation run to Jesus when every thing in this world is telling to run to themselves.
We just want girls to know that they are valuable and worthy just as they are.
They do not have to go along with what everyone else is doing.
They do not have to gain the approval of others.
They can stand on the truth of God’s Word, trust Him and follow Him in everything even when no one else understands and He will satisfy their hearts with His Joy and His Love. He will show them purpose and they will be able to walk in the joy for which they were created!
It’s more than we could ever imagine.
This is what we have lived over the past combined 30 years and we want other girls to be able to tell that story as well. To know they are His and be confident that He is with them and working out His Purposes and Plans for them.
“As for me, I will always have hope; I will praise You more and more. My mouth will tell of Your Righteous Deeds, of Your Saving Acts all day long— though I know not how to relate them all. I will come and proclaim Your Mighty Acts, Sovereign Lord; I will proclaim Your Righteous Deeds, Yours alone. Since my youth, God, You have taught me, and to this day I declare Your Marvelous Deeds. Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare Your Power to the next generation, Your Mighty Acts to all who are to come.” Psalm 71: 14-18
It is just the beginning of this amazing journey of Girl Talk Ministries!! The world is changing because God showed up in a living room 10 years ago and said, “I am able to do immeasurably more than you can ask, think or imagine if you let My Power work through you… do you trust Me?”
Thank you to every mom, dad, girl, every family who has opened their homes to us over the years. Every prayer, every gift of support, every ounce of trust you have given us as we walk this calling with God. We never want to be anywhere else and you have made that possible.
