Where The Lord is Leading Me
Since 2011 when Katie Davis published her book “Kisses from Katie,” I cannot tell you how many texts and phone calls I have gotten saying “I just read this amazing book about Katie Davis and you remind me so much of her.” I have always wanted to hide from that! I am not her! Mainly because accepting that meant I was willing to give up the love of my life!! But over the last several weeks I’ve realized the love of my life is Christ! I don’t want anything but Him. He has been calling me overseas since I was in 3rd grade. I have had a heart for orphans since 8th grade when I babysat for a family who had adopted a beautiful daughter from Guatemala. I have wanted to adopt since then. I did every paper I could on orphans and adoption in high school and I have had an aching desire to go! But the doors have never opened. Today, being told I remind so many people of an eighteen year old (now 26), who gave up everything to follow God’s call is one of the biggest compliments I could ever receive. And today, doors are open and I am praying and preparing now to go where the Lord is sending me overseas! I think the Lord has kept me home all this time to teach me how much ministry is needed right here in Montgomery. I had to learn that before my heart could be open to anything else!
“I want to be spiritually and emotionally filled every day.. I want to be challenged endlessly. I want to be taught by those I teach, and I want to share God’s love with people who otherwise might not know it. I want to work so hard that I end every day filthy and too tired to move. I want to make some kind of difference, no matter how small, and I want to follow the calling God has placed on my heart. I want to give my life away, to serve the Lord with each breath.” – Katie Davis

I want to thank God who has seen me capable of this call. He doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the call. If He can use me, He can use you! Thank you to the women who have loved and supported me through every step of this journey and who have put in the time and effort to help make all that Girl Talk Ministries is today. Thank you Becky Stewart who called me without ever meeting me to tell me she wanted to do all she could for my ministry, God’s ministry. As God’s hands and feet, you are the reason we are what we are! Thank you for obeying God and listening to His call and not letting the devil touch what God has planned through you! You keep me straight! You are my hero! I am so looking forward to what the future holds for Girl Talk Ministries!
